Boarding Options

We have three options for horse boarding here at Frost Bit Farm.  All our options are full care.  Call us to see what we have available to offer you.

Semi Private Paddock Board

This is our most economical option because it requires your horse to share a paddock with one other horse.  Each paddock is approximately 1/4 to 1/3 acre in size.  Paddocks are maintained but not always grassed.  They also may be wooded to some degree.  We do our best to find appropriate paddock mates for each horse.  There are some limitations that come with this option.  Horses are required to be fed the same hay and grain as the other horse.  Feed options are also limited to Timothy Hay and 14% Complete horse pelleted feed.   There is a round bale option also.

Board Includes ;

  • 20 -25 lbs. Timothy Hay daily separated into 2 feedings. Or 24/7 access to a round bale if both owners agree.

  • 2 quarts  14% Complete Horse pelleted feed separated into 2 feedings.

  • 24/7 access to water (heated in winter)

  • salt/mineral block

  • Run-in Shelter for protection from the elements

  • Daily cleaning of Shelter and surrounding area.

  • Access to heated grooming area

  • Access to heated wash stall with hot water

  • Access to round pen and outdoor arena

  • If space is available, tack cubby in heated tack room.  (stall boarders have priority)

  • Fly spray and Blanketing according to your instructions (horses must be able to be caught and trained to accept both) We are not responsible for any damage done to blankets by your horse or the other horse.

Private Paddock Boarding

This is similar to the Semi Private Paddock option but your horse gets the entire paddock to himself.  Therefore there is not a limitation on the type of hay or grain feed.  We can also feed a supplement that you provide for your horse.

Board Includes:

  • Variety of Quality Hay to choose from (or a round bale 24/7)

  • variety of Quality grain to choose from

  • 24/7 access to water (heated in winer)

  • salt/Mineral block

  • Run-in Shelter for protection from the weather

  • Daily cleaning of Shelter and surrounding area

  • Access to heated grooming area.

  • Access to heated wash stall with hot water

  • Access to round pen and outdoor arena

  • If space is available, tack cubby in heated tack room. (priority goes to stall boarders)

  • Fly spray and Blanketing according to your specifications (horse must be able to be easily caught, and trained to accept both)

Important Health requirements to board at Frost Bit Farm

Here at Frost Bit Farm we do our best to keep your horse healthy.  We have quite a few of our own horses here; Old guys, pregnant mamas, and usually lots of babies and young horses.  We also have horses that come and go to events in and out of the state.  Therefore, we have a high standard for horse health.

The requirements for all the horses here are the same and must be completed before your horse arrives and maintained throughout their stay.

Annual Vaccines

Frost Bit Farm schedules a veterinarian clinic every spring and fall to administer vaccines that you can sign up for or you can schedule your own with your own vet, but Frost Bit Farm must have proof of vaccines and EIA test

  • EIA (Coggins) lab blood test

  • Flu/Rhino Vaccine

  • Tetanus Vaccine

  • Strangles Vaccine

  • Rabies Vaccine

Quarterly Deworming

Your horse must be dewormed upon arrival.

And to make sure every horse is on the same schedule, Frost Bit Farm will provide the dewormer and administer it or watch it be administered to the horse.  Deworming costs will be charged to the owner next billing cycle.

Farrier

It is a requirement that you maintain your horses' feet.  We do not schedule anything for your horse but you are required to care for your horses' feet as part of their overall health.
